THE ANUNNAKI CONNECTION: THE FORGOTTEN HISTORY OF HUMANITY?
Before discussing the Draconians, the Greys, or the civilizations said to originate from the Pleiades and Sirius star systems, we have to start with one of the most influential and controversial extraterrestrial theories ever proposed.
The theory of Zecharia Sitchin.
According to Sitchin's interpretation of ancient Sumerian texts, humanity's true origins may be far different from what we've been taught.
When archaeologists uncovered the ruins of ancient Sumer, they discovered thousands of clay tablets covered in cuneiform writing—the oldest known written language on Earth.
Among those who dedicated decades to studying these texts was Zecharia Sitchin, a researcher whose work would eventually inspire an entirely new interpretation of human history.
Sitchin claimed that the Sumerians recorded the existence of beings known as the Anunnaki.
In Sumerian tradition, the Anunnaki were described as beings who came from the heavens.
According to Sitchin's interpretation, these entities arrived on Earth in the distant past after a crisis developed on their home world. In search of gold, which they allegedly needed for their planet's atmosphere, they established mining operations on Earth.
At first, the Anunnaki performed the labor themselves.
Eventually, however, they needed a workforce.
Sitchin suggested that the primitive hominids already living on Earth were not suitable for the task. To solve this problem, the Anunnaki allegedly used advanced genetic engineering to create a new species.
Modern humanity.
According to this theory, the Anunnaki combined their own genetic material with that of early humans, producing Homo sapiens after numerous failed attempts.
This event, some believe, became the foundation for many later religious stories.
Supporters of the theory point to striking similarities between ancient myths and biblical narratives.
The Garden of Eden.
The Great Flood.
Divine beings descending from the heavens.
In this interpretation, Eden was not a paradise but a genetic engineering facility where humanity was created.
The "gods" described in ancient texts were not supernatural beings, but advanced extraterrestrials.
Among the Anunnaki, two figures played a central role: Enlil and Enki.
Enlil was said to oversee Earth and maintain authority over humanity.
Enki, on the other hand, was portrayed as sympathetic toward humans and supportive of their development.
As humanity grew more intelligent and independent, conflict reportedly emerged between the two factions.
According to the story, Enlil eventually decided that humanity had become a problem.
A catastrophic flood was planned.
But Enki disagreed.
Rather than allowing humanity to perish, he secretly warned a select group and helped them survive the coming disaster.
Some researchers believe this account later evolved into the story of Noah's Ark.
Not a wooden vessel, they argue, but misunderstood technology described by people who lacked the language to explain what they had witnessed.
The theory extends even further.
Supporters claim the Anunnaki established outposts not only on Earth, but also on Mars.
Some suggest that ancient structures such as pyramids served technological purposes beyond anything recognized today.
Others point to unusual features photographed on Mars as possible remnants of a forgotten civilization.
According to this narrative, humanity's ancient myths were not merely symbolic stories.
They were fragmented memories of real events involving advanced non-human civilizations.
Eventually, the Anunnaki departed.
But according to some interpretations of the ancient texts, they promised one day to return.
Mainstream historians, archaeologists, and linguists reject Sitchin's conclusions and argue that his translations of Sumerian texts are deeply flawed.
Yet despite decades of criticism, the Anunnaki theory remains one of the most influential alternative-history narratives ever proposed.
If even a fraction of it were true, human history would need to be rewritten from the ground up.
And Earth may be carrying a far older story than we ever imagined.
